Call for Submissions for
The Lincoln Underground

Are you a writer, poet, artist, or photographer? Would you like to break into the literary world but often find it too pretentious and closed-off? We're trying to change that world, one poem at a time. We publish everything from sonnets to slam to epic poems to zombie fiction to sci-fi, fantasy and more. We print photography and artwork by all sorts of artists, whether professional, new to the field, or in between.

We adhere to traditional literary magazine principles, where everything is read by our editorial team and voted upon, but we are not easily impressed by degrees, awards, or previous publishing credits. We just want to read interesting, well-written, meaningful work and publish it! Created and edited by Amy Keller and Jeff Martinson, a husband-and-wife team with combined experience in poetry, songwriting, fiction writing, art, and drinking way too much coffee. We are an indie startup endeavor, making the magazine out of our apartment's spare bedroom, self-funding it, using a local printer to publish it, and selling it in local coffeeshops and bookstores, and online at the Sweet Candy Distro.

We specialize in diverse work from unpublished writers, and we accept art, photo, and writing submissions both local and worldwide!

Send us your poetry, short fiction, creative non-fiction,song lyrics, photography, artwork, and/or other original creative work (2,500 words or less). Please include a short biographical statement (55 words or less) with your submissions to:
